Cameron Green’s year has gotten off to a rough start. Due to recuperation from back surgery late last year, the Australian all-rounder missed a substantial amount of cricket in 2024 and 2025. The all-rounder has his planner set on the Ashes. Later this year, after making a comeback to competitive cricket two months ago in the World Test Championship Final and emerging “unscathed” from the Frank Worrell Trophy.

Green averaged 30.67 runs and was the third-highest run scorer in the three tests. Despite the West Indies’ pitches greatly aiding the bowlers. However, because of the radically different conditions. The all-rounder felt that there wasn’t enough to detract from the series.

“To get out of the West Indies series unscathed,” Cameron Green stated.

Green stated, “I don’t think there are too many takeaways. We won’t be playing on many wickets quite like that (in The Ashes).” Trying to depart the series unscathed was a good achievement, especially for the batters, as it was such a tough wicket.

In order to strengthen his preparations for the Australian summer. Green is considering a duty with Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield. That is three months abroad from the Ashes opener. Additionally, the all-rounder thinks it would allow him to resume bowling. He hasn’t done anything since rejoining the competitive cricket scene in June.

“I’ve found that it works really well when I concentrate on shield cricket in the past. Given that I’m gradually getting back into bowling. That might be the best course of action to get a few more overs over a few more days.”

After a lengthy injury layoff earlier this year. Green described the journey as exciting, though he was unsure of which game he would finally return to bowling.

“I’m feeling great and in a great place, but I’m not exactly sure what match (his comeback to bowling) is.” It’s simply very thrilling. The journey back has been lengthy.
