The spokesperson highlighted that any hostile actions would result in significant consequences citing recent military operations as proof of India’s determination.

Thursday, India issued a warning to the Pakistani leadership concerning their ongoing war mongering and hostile remarks directed at India. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) urged Pakistan to moderate its language. Indicating that failure to do so could result in painful consequences as evidenced recently in Operation Sindoor. We have observed numerous statements and reports indicating a persistent trend of war mongering and hateful remarks against India. It is a well established tactic of the Pakistani leadership to escalate anti India rhetoric in order to divert attention from their own shortcomings. The MEA reaction follows a series of consecutive statements and threats issued by the Pakistani leadership towards India. This situation began last week when Asim Munir visiting the United States. Warned of the possibility of a nuclear war in the region should Islamabad encounter an existential threat.

On Tuesday Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asserted that any effort to halt the flow of water into Pakistan constitutes a breach of the Indus Waters Treaty and will provoke a decisive response. This warning aimed at India followed remarks made a day earlier by Pakistan’s former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He characterized the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty as an assault on the Indus Valley Civilization.

India suspended the 1960 agreement shortly after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. This occurred in the deaths of 26 individuals. Union Home Minister Amit Shah previously declared that India would not reinstate the historic accord.
In a statement on Thursday, the MEA spokesperson indicated that Pakistan should consider moderating its rhetoric, stating that any misadventure will have painful consequences as demonstrated recently. The spokesperson likely alluded to Operation Sindoor. That involved India’s precision strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan in May of this year, following the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals. Primarily tourists on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir.
